Tag 1: Antananarivo - AntsirabeListenelement 1Drive up to Antsirabe. If you wish, you can also stroll through Madagascar's spa town in the late afternoon. Overnight stay with breakfast. Travel time: approx. 4-5 hours. | Distance: approx. 168 km

Tag 2: Antsirabe - Ambositra - FianarantsoaEarly in the morning, visit the wood carving town with its numerous small family workshops, where you can watch the craftsmen with their simple tools and their serenity at work in traditional wood carvings. This method of working wood is part of UNESCO's intangible world cultural heritage. Continue south to Fianarantsoa, the capital of the Betsileo tribe, who are known for artistically cultivating the mountain slopes with rice terraces. You will reach Fianarantsoa in the evening. Overnight stay with breakfast.

Tag 3: Fianarantsoa-Zugfahrt-ManakaraListenelement 2Today you will take an adventure train ride through the rainforest from the east side of Madagascar to the coast of Manakara. Overnight stay with breakfast. Travel time: approx. 7 hours. Travel distance: approx. 168km

Tag 4: Manakara – RanomafanaIn the morning, visit the small town of Manakara with the colorful Bazar market, then drive to Ranomafana. Our goal for the day is Ranomafana and the approximately 43,000 hectare Ranomafana National Park, which is home to a diverse, endemic animal world and rare tropical plants. In 1997, the golden bamboo lemur was rediscovered here by the German primatologist Bernhard Meyer after years of research. Since then, this national park has developed into one of the most visited parks in Madagascar. Late afternoon, arrival at the hotel and overnight stay with breakfast. Day 5: Wildlife watching in the Ranomafana Nature ReserveIn the dense rainforests of the protected area, we go in search of the diurnal lemurs with a local guide. With a little luck, the rare golden bamboo lemur, birds, reptiles, amphibians and butterflies can be observed and photographed. This hike can be extended to the small town of Ranomafana by arrangement.

Tag 6: Ranomafana - Fianarantsoa - Ambalavao - TsaranoroAfter breakfast we drive via the hilly town of Fianarantsoa - which is known for its cathedral - to Ambalavao. There we visit the Antemoro paper factory and the small town market (Wednesday is market day). We then explore the Anja lemur reserve. Then we drive on to Tsaranoro and spend the night with breakfast at Catta Camp.

Tag 7: TsaranoroHike up to Chameleon Mountain, which is 1,960 m high, or take a simple trip through the gallery forest with numerous lemurs. Overnight stay with breakfast at Catta Camp.

Tag 8: Tsaranoro – RanohiraToday we take a long drive of 198 kilometers through the wide plain of Horombe, along the Andringitra Mountains through a grassy steppe landscape to our destination for the day, Ranohira, located in the middle of the south. 3 nights with breakfast in Ranohira.

Tag 9 10: Isalo-NationalparkIn the Isalo Canyon National Park, an overwhelming landscape awaits us with sandstone formations, aloes, pachypodiums, kalanchoes, palm trees, screw pines and, of course, lemurs. The morning hike leads into the Monkey Canyon and in the afternoon we hike on good paths through a bizarre landscape to the "Piscine Naturelle" - bringing your bathing suit is a must. We only start the return journey when the low sun bathes the landscape in a fantastic light.

Tag 11: Ranohira – Tulear – IfatyDrive through the semi-desert, past the famous Mahafaly tombs towards the west coast. Shortly before Tulear we take a trip to the new Zombitse National Park. This is followed by an easy hike in the reserve, a botanical garden with landscaped paths. In addition to numerous native plant species, you can also often see birds and chameleons, and with a bit of luck, lemurs such as the larval sifaka, brown lemur or meadow lemur. Continue to Ifaty on the west coast. Overnight stay with breakfast in the beach hotel.

Day 12: Beach holiday and thorn forest with the baobabsToday you can enjoy a wonderful day at leisure on the beach and in the afternoon visit the thorn and baobab forest of Reniala.

Tag 13: Toliara - AntananarivoMorning to relax and then transfer to the airport and return flight to the capital. Overnight stay in the hotel with breakfast.
